Being the father of a large family, Lane is no summer soldier. His commitment is that of a Christian soldier, and he merits great love and thanks. I appreciate how he works every day to provide for our family, comes home to help out, and holds my hand whenever I need it. Onward, Christian Soldiers. That's my Lane.
Lane works with the Boy Scouts in our area, which is also a great blessing to Nathan and Peter. (This is also no job for the weak-hearted. They killed and plucked and cooked chickens for one of their meals. Try teaching that to a dozen 12- and 13-year olds.) Even though Peter's not a Boy Scout yet, sometimes he gets to go along for the ride when possible, like this summer. Peter caught more fish than anyone at their Scout camp!
(Lane and Nate recently went pheasant hunting with some cousins and uncles. Loved every minute.)
